                         forma, a sustentabilidade das atividades produtivas na 
                         Amaz{\^o}nia tem sido objeto de cr{\'{\i}}tica, e uma 
                         an{\'a}lise sobre essa din{\^a}mica se faz necess{\'a}ria em um 
                         momento em que um novo ciclo econ{\^o}mico e de 
                         reestrutura{\c{c}}{\~a}o do territ{\'o}rio se instala na 
                         regi{\~a}o. O presente texto faz uma an{\'a}lise da 
                         din{\^a}mica produtiva e sustentabilidade, dos usos da terra na 
                         Amaz{\^o}nia, considerando diferentes categorias socioambientais 
                         na perspectiva dos usos do territ{\'o}rio, recursos naturais e do 
                         modo de produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o dos atores envolvidos no processo 
                         produtivo. Avalia-se que o discurso da sustentabilidade modificou 
                         uma situa{\c{c}}{\~a}o anterior de desvaloriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o de 
                         determinadas categorias socioambientais com trajet{\'o}rias 
                         tecnol{\'o}gicas rurais em muito maior harmonia com o meio 
                         ambiente e que uma real transforma{\c{c}}{\~a}o na Amaz{\^o}nia 
                         somente seria atingida levando-se em conta o conjunto das 
                         dimens{\~o}es dos sistemas agr{\'a}rios da regi{\~a}o. 
                         ABSTRACT: Large swathes of Amazon land suffer from deforestation 
                         while being subjected to intensified and diversified means in the 
                         exploration of natural resources. As such, the sustainability of 
                         production activities in the Amazon has come under severe 
                         criticism. This gives rise to the need to analyze this situation, 
                         at a moment in which a new economic and restructuring cycle for 
                         the land is underway in the region. This text examines the 
                         production dynamics and the sustainability of the uses of soil in 
                         the Amazon, taking into account the different socioenvironmental 
                         categories in light of the uses of land, natural resources, and 
                         the methods used by those involved in the production. It concludes 
                         that the ideology of sustainability has brought about significant 
                         change to the prior situation, in which certain 
                         socio-environmental categories were undervalued. They have now 
                         been put on a rural technological path that is more in tune with 
                         the environment. A true change in the Amazon is thought to be 
                         possible if the magnitude of agricultural systems in the region is 
                         taken into consideration.",
